PROJECT NOTES
Progress without record is nothing.
Throughout the entire summer of research, my note keeping had to be impeccable. Learning by the scientific method demands that detailed records be kept so that any one could duplicate your results. I performed and analyzed more than 35 experiments over the summer and because of the detailed notes that I kept, presenting my findings to my colleagues at SUU's Research Symposium went incredibly smoothly. It's true what they say, "Progress without record is nothing."
Project Presentation
Knowledge is wasted if not shared.
An important part of any scientific project is the presentation of the knowledge gained. My research, unfortunately, did not result in any novel discoveries and my data was inconclusive, but that does not mean that my knowledge was not worth being shared. As a matter of fact, my failures have led to further hypotheses that could result in incredible new discoveries. So as to further research in pharmaceuticals and novel chemical reactions, my work was presented at SUU's Research Symposium. The following poster is the basis of my presentation for the Symposium and will also be used for the presentations that will be done in the Festival of Excellence and in the Utah Undergraduate Research Conference.
